Don’t let the high cost of brand topical azole antifungal cream disrupt your athlete’s foot, jock itch, or ringworm treatment. We help eligible patients access Luzu (luliconazole cream 1%) for as little as $69.95 per month through the manufacturer’s Patient Assistance Program.
The Luzu Patient Assistance Program is a manufacturer-sponsored initiative that helps eligible patients access Luzu (used for topical treatment of athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm) at little or no cost when they meet specific income, insurance, and clinical criteria. The program is free to apply for, but the enrollment process involves detailed applications, prescriber coordination, supporting documentation, and ongoing renewal — which can be overwhelming when you are managing a fungal skin infection.
At AffordMyPrescriptions, our Patient Advocates handle the entire Luzu PAP enrollment for a flat $69.95 per month. We complete the application, coordinate with your prescriber for required medical documentation, follow up with the manufacturer’s program until approval, manage your refills, and handle annual re-certification — so you never face a gap in your Luzu antifungal therapy.
AffordMyPrescriptions eliminates that burden. For a flat $69.95 per month, our Patient Advocates handle every step of your Luzu enrollment — from the initial application through ongoing refills and annual re-enrollment — so you never face a gap in your fungal infection treatment.

The Luzu Patient Assistance Program is free to apply and provides medication at no cost if approved. But the process involves detailed applications, prescriber coordination, documentation, and ongoing management — applications that are commonly delayed or denied when paperwork is incomplete. Our $69.95 per month covers full advocacy: applications, doctor coordination, documentation, refill management, and re-enrollment — so you focus on your health, not paperwork. OTC topical antifungals (terbinafine, clotrimazole, butenafine, miconazole) are very inexpensive effective first-line options for most superficial fungal skin infections.

Many patients try discount cards first. Here’s why the Patient Assistance Program through AffordMyPrescriptions is the better long-term solution for Luzu:
Coupon cards expire and require constant renewal
Eligibility is generally determined by annual household income levels. Most programs follow guidelines that include a limit of up to $40,000 for individuals, $60,000 for couples, and $100,000 for larger families. Because these requirements can vary, we encourage you to contact AffordMyPrescriptions directly so we can review your specific situation and determine if you qualify for assistance.
Luzu is a topical azole antifungal designed for short-course treatment of common superficial dermatophyte infections. Approved for 1-week course for tinea pedis (interdigital) and tinea cruris and 2-week course for tinea corporis — shorter than many alternatives.
How Luzu Works:
Tinea infections (athlete’s foot, jock itch, ringworm) are caused by dermatophyte fungi (Trichophyton, Epidermophyton, Microsporum) infecting the superficial skin. Most cases respond well to topical antifungals.
Luliconazole inhibits fungal ergosterol synthesis (lanosterol 14-alpha demethylase) — disrupting fungal cell membrane integrity. Particularly potent against dermatophytes. Once-daily dosing and short treatment courses (1–2 weeks) improve adherence. Effective against the same range of fungi as older azoles and allylamine antifungals (terbinafine, butenafine).
Form and Use:
Luzu 1% cream. Apply a thin layer to affected areas and surrounding skin once daily. For interdigital tinea pedis and tinea cruris: 7 days. For tinea corporis: 14 days. Wash hands after application. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, and mucous membranes. Continue treatment for the full duration even if symptoms improve early.
Generic availability:
No generic Luzu. Generic topical antifungal alternatives extensively available very cheap: terbinafine (Lamisil — OTC and Rx generic, allylamine, often considered first-line for tinea), butenafine (Lotrimin Ultra OTC, allylamine — generic), clotrimazole (Lotrimin AF OTC, generic Rx — older azole), miconazole (Monistat for jock itch — OTC and generic), ketoconazole (Nizoral generic), econazole (generic), tolnaftate (Tinactin OTC), naftifine (Naftin — generic). For extensive or resistant disease, oral antifungals: terbinafine (generic), itraconazole (generic), fluconazole (generic). For accompanying onychomycosis, see Jublia/Kerydin/oral options. Address coexisting interdigital maceration with drying agents (aluminum acetate, antifungal powders).
Warnings:
Local application site reactions (irritation, contact dermatitis — uncommon), pruritus, burning, hypersensitivity. Limited systemic absorption. Use during pregnancy only if benefits clearly outweigh risks. Lactation: limited data. Avoid contact with eyes, mouth, vagina. Discontinue if irritation or hypersensitivity develops.
Brand Luzu $250–$400 per tube. OTC terbinafine 1% cream costs $5–$10; OTC clotrimazole 1% costs $5–$8. These OTC options are very inexpensive effective alternatives for most patients.
Both are effective topical antifungals for tinea infections. Terbinafine is an allylamine (often considered first-line for tinea infections with shortest treatment courses). Luzu is a newer azole with comparable efficacy and a 1-week course for tinea pedis and cruris. Most patients respond equally well to either, and OTC terbinafine is a tiny fraction of the cost.
They typically are — OTC terbinafine, butenafine, and clotrimazole are very cheap first-line options. Luzu is occasionally prescribed for patients who haven’t responded to or cannot tolerate first-line OTC antifungals, or when a prescriber prefers its short courses.
Yes — approved for patients ≥12 years old. Same once-daily application.
Luzu is for short courses (1–2 weeks). Repeat or extended use should be avoided unless prescribed; reinfection typically reflects environmental exposure (shoes, surfaces, household members) — address those factors to prevent recurrence.
Mild local irritation, pruritus, burning at application site. Hypersensitivity reactions are uncommon. Limited systemic absorption — systemic effects rare.
We help explore OTC terbinafine, butenafine, clotrimazole, or miconazole (all very inexpensive effective first-line), generic Rx topical antifungals (terbinafine, clotrimazole, miconazole, ketoconazole), manufacturer copay programs, and addressing environmental factors (shoe hygiene, foot drying, treating household members) to prevent reinfection.
Athlete’s foot, jock itch, and ringworm treatment should not be skipped over cost. OTC topical antifungals are very inexpensive effective options for most patients. Our Luzu advocacy team is ready to verify your eligibility, complete the manufacturer application on your behalf, and manage your prescription through approval, delivery, and renewal — for a flat $69.95 per month.
